1. Must have a high school certificate (Better if you have a degree from a subject in aviation.)

​

2. Complete the required training in your flight school, usually it takes approximately 55 to 60 hours of total training to qualify for a Private License, and 2 months if you are doing it full-time (How much time it will actually take you differs as many factors such as weather, availability of aircraft, financial situation, and how much are you willing to fly)

3. Need an (ARN) Aviation reference number

  • To get this, you can go to the Civil Aviation Safety Authority, it is free to get but takes approximately 1 week to process

​

4. If you want to fly by yourself, you need to obtain a CASA Class 1 or Class 2 medical certification (CASA Class 1 medical is valid for only 1 year) (CASA Class 2 medical is valid for 4 years if you are above the age of 40)

​

5. Commercial Pilot’s License 

​Need a Private Pilot’s license:

  • Complete training for the Private Pilot License

  • Requires Cross-country flying (Landing at any other airport other than the departure airport including the use of electronic navigation aids, radio aids, navigation systems to reach to the landing point & the distance must be 50 NM or greater) & basic flying.

  • Requires a total flying time of 30 hours as a pilot, 10 hours of solo flight time, and 5 hours of cross-country flying

  • Complete a theory exam through your flight school that covers everything that you have learnt, to pass the exam you need to get higher than 70% overall.

  • Pass the private pilot’s license flight (Will be organized by your flight school and graded by CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority), you will be tested in multiple factors such as, take-off, descending, arrival, and after landing (post-flight)

 

  • Training requires 70 hours of being pilot-in-command, 140 hours of flying being the pilot, and 20 hours of pilot-in-command flying cross-country (Integrated Course)

 

  • Require 200 hours of flight time being a pilot, and 100 hours of flight time being pilot-in-command. (Non-Integrated Course)

 

  • Complete the commercial pilot license exam, you need to get a minimum grade of 70%, overall, you will be tested among 7 subjects, 2 subjects will require you to get a score above 80% which is the Flight Rules and Air Laws. (All Exams should be taken within a time frame of 2 years)

 

  • Pass the Commercial Flight Test (Organized by flight academy that you are training at, but will be administrated by CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority), you will also be test in all factors of flight such as, take-off, descent, landing procedures, arrival, and post-flight
